Chateau de Massillan's 12 rooms and a suite were all individually created by the owners, interior designer/decorator Birgit Israel and product designer/sculptor Peter Wylly. The building's original architecture is complemented by a mix of exquisite antiques and contemporary furniture, luxury bed linens and specially designed limestone sinks. Many of the bathrooms offer a separate freestanding bath and a walk in shower. All rooms have air conditioning and delightful views of the fountain courtyard or the 24 acre park.
The Chateau dates back to 1550 when it was owned by Diane de Poitiers,the famous life long companion of Henry II. Initially built as de Poitiers 'hunting lodge', the 24 acres of surrounding land now operates as a vineyard.
Chateau de Massillan boasts 24 acres of parkland, with a herb garden, 40 meter long pond, pinewoods,meadows and a 19th century walled garden which provides produce for the hotel restaurant.
The restaurant opens onto an expansive courtyard where guests may enjoy meals by the contemporary fountain. Opposite the restaurant is the 'Winter garden' a second lounge area where pre and after dinner drinks can be served.
To the east of the fountain is a protected garden and 14 meter long swimming pool.
