Villa Baside Aixoise

This stunning and brand new, south facing Provencal villa is an ideal place to enjoy the delights of the south of France. Situated in the peace and quiet of a semi-rural residential area, it's just a short drive from the villages of Tourettes-sur-Loup and St Paul de Vence, as well as cosmopolitan Nice and Antibes on the coast. It is decorated and furnished throughout in an imaginative modern and minimalist style, with calming neutral colours on the walls and floors. Built to a very good specification, it's equipped with high quality fittings and is accessed through electric gates. The garden is a mix of landscaped lawns and natural vegetation, where the heated infinity pool is the main feature.

The ground floor is bright and spacious and arranged for open plan living. The living and dining area opens out onto the terrace and the pool, taking advantage of the magnificent Provencal views. Many unusual artefacts from foreign travels adorn these rooms, along with comfortable wooden and leather furniture. Outside the kitchen there's a large covered terrace with a long sofa bed, enormous wooden benches and a table - perfect for al fresco lunches and dinners and general relaxing. The first of the bedrooms is also on this floor. Featuring a double bed, a striking open plan bathroom with a freestanding stone bath and large walk in shower, this room is enormous. It also enjoys its own terrace.

Upstairs are three further bedrooms. Two almost identical twin rooms share a shower room, whilst the third is a good sized double bedroom with an en suite shower room. Each of the bedrooms are designed and decorated in the same uncluttered style, with cool wooden floors and French doors onto Juliet balconies overlooking the garden and pool and the beautiful sea views beyond.

The property is very child friendly, with the garden predominantly all on one level and the large salt water swimming pool (13mx6m) with its steps running along the width. There is no dedicated playroom at the villa, however an area has been set up with a wide choice of indoor and outdoor toys, where our nanny will make sure that your children are well looked after with creative, entertaining and progressive play. Parents can sit back and enjoy a well-earned break, and become as involved as they like.

Bastide Aixoise is situated in a great location in the Cote d'Azur. Set in beautiful surroundings, it's close to the glamour of the coast, and is just a stone's throw from some historic Provencal villages. The small town of Vence is full of artisans and is characterised by its groves of olive and orange trees. Once you've wandered through the streets full of galleries and shops, it's the perfect place to relax in one of the many cafés. There is a daily market on the Place Clémenceau inside the old village where you'll find flowers, fish, honey and all sorts of herbs and spices, and a weekly market at the Place du Grand Jardin. This is an area well-known for its links to famous artists, and the nearby St Paul de Vence is no exception. A hilltop fortified village, filled with galleries and boutiques, it played host to Matisse, Picasso and Dufy, to name but a few at the beginning of the last century. The Colombe d'Or is worth visiting for lunch (a reservation will be necessary) to admire some of the original artwork on the walls.
