La Perriere is a pretty villa close to the charming medieval village of St Paul, a haven of cobbled streets, classic French houses and art galleries. It is situated on a hill within a gated estate, in a typical small and peaceful Provencal community. The villa is about a 30-minute drive from Nice and the coast, and a short drive from many of this region's historic villages.
The villa has a large heated infinity pool at the front of the house and is surrounded by a terraced garden and shady spots, perfect for al fresco dining and relaxing. The garden is full of fragrant and colourful Mediterranean plants and flowers. The large terrace enjoys wonderful views over the Riviera and out to the sea in the distance.
The Perriere is spacious and airy with a large open plan sitting and dining room and three en-suite bedrooms upstairs. The master bedroom has its own balcony and the second double bedroom has access out onto a terrace at the back of the house. The third bedroom is a twin room ideal for children. The use of simple furnishings and pastel colours, help create that traditional Provencal ambience.
The villa is situated in a great location in the Cote d'Azur. Set in beautiful surroundings, it's close to the glamour of the coast, and is just a stone's throw from some historic Provencal villages. The small town of Vence is full of artisans and is characterised by its groves of olive and orange trees. Once you've wandered through the streets full of galleries and shops, it's the perfect place to relax in one of the many cafés. There is a daily market on the Place Clémenceau inside the old village where you'll find flowers, fish, honey and all sorts of herbs and spices, and a weekly market at the Place du Grand Jardin. This is an area well-known for its links to famous artists, and the nearby St Paul de Vence is no exception. A hilltop fortified village, filled with galleries and boutiques, it played host to Matisse, Picasso and Dufy, to name but a few at the beginning of the last century. The Colombe d'Or is worth visiting for lunch (a reservation will be necessary) to admire some of the original artwork on the walls.
