Architecturally stunning in a pristine forest setting, Yanagi is a modernist’s design dream with a breathtaking exposed-timber façade that blends beautifully with the tall forest trees of Japan’s Niseko ski-resort destination and echoes the beautiful natural landscape. Just on the edge of Hirafu Village, the centre of which is only a couple of kilometers away, the four-bedroom chalet features two master bedrooms and two bedrooms with three single beds each, accommodating up to 10 guests, and ideal for two families vacationing together.
With views of Mount Yotei from all the bedrooms and the living area, the monochrome and natural-wood interiors, along with Japanese minimalist design, creates an artistically contemporary-styled chalet. The spacious open-plan living and dining room is flanked by a wall of glass that leads out to a broad, wooden covered balcony that runs the length of this space. Leather sofas and a stone feature gas fireplace add warmth to the stark design.
A dining table looks out on the opposite side of the room too with a vast floor-to-ceiling glass pane, while close to the fully-equipped kitchen there is a breakfast bar that functions as a kitchen island with sink.
The chalet’s main master bedroom has its balcony as well as an en-suite bathtub, while the second master bedroom has an en-suite with a rain shower and two of the rooms share a bathroom with a shower too.
An added feature at Yanagi is a media room with a 40” flat-screen TV with Netflix as well as cube-style seating and a sofa with space to fully stretch out. There are also ski and boot racks too, with the bus to the slopes less than a kilometre away. In the chalet, a concierge service is available as well as massages and catering on request along with a grocery-delivery service and wine menu for in-dining.
